SAN SONNEA was born from a deep connection with nature. Founded by the Hinteregger Family, who grew up on a traditional farm in Luson — today home to SAN SONNEA Dolomites Family — the family has always lived in close harmony with the rhythms and cycles of the natural world.
From the very beginning, SAN SONNEA was guided by a greater purpose: to help guests — and especially children — reconnect with nature and experience the region’s deeply rooted traditions in an authentic way. Visionary founder Angelika Hinteregger, together with her husband Hans Hinteregger, laid the foundation and created a truly unique place over decades of dedication.
Today, their children, Lukas Hinteregger and Anna Hinteregger, continue this legacy — carrying their family’s vision forward and bringing it to life through new expressions across each destination.

The origins of SAN SONNEA lie in Luson, on a vast, sun-drenched mountain meadow. On the site of a century-old alpine farmhouse, the Hinteregger Family carefully created a family resort over decades - thoughtfully embedded in nature at the foot of the Dolomites. From these roots, a philosophy emerged that places a deep connection with nature and holistic well-being at its very center. Today, this vision continues to be lived across two additional destinations: in Villnöss, surrounded by the heart of the Dolomites, and on the shores of Lake Garda.
